About the exhibitor

Kyoto Karasuma Rokuhichido is an innovative Japanese stationery brand that celebrates the beauty of Japan's four seasons and traditional customs, showcased through a special paper pasting technique. With a profound appreciation for paper and a commitment to its future, their products epitomise the ability of paper to foster connections and evoke emotions.

Their collection is centred around stationery crafted from Japan's renowned paper: washi. With a heritage and expertise in washi dating back to 1912 in Kyoto, Kyoto Karasuma Rokuhichido blends contemporary sensibility into this time-honoured art, crafting a new genre of Japanese stationery imbued with richness in texture, colour, and form — enhancing our daily lives.

About the products

Each of Kyoto Karasuma Rokuhichido's products is carefully handcrafted using the technique of layering washi over washi. By incorporating silk printing and affixing pictures to the base washi paper, texture and colour variances are enhanced, adding depth to the design.

Their designs are distinguished by their skilful integration of the flat texture of silk printing, the clear colours and the velvet-like texture unique to Japanese paper, complemented by the subtly soft hues.
