
About the exhibitor
kuli-kuli is a design studio based in Kobe. Recently, the brand has been focusing on community-based initiatives and projects with a focus on sustainability. kuli-kuli considers various themes of local industries. Okinawan coral and Shimane tatara culture are treated as objects of design to create works from a sustainable perspective while maintaining the characteristics and culture of the region. kuli-kuli’s designs have been awarded the Kokuyo Design Award Grand Prix, first prize at the Salone Satellite Award, and numerous other awards.
About the products
Kado-press is a local industry in Nagata, Kobe. The technology cultivated for the soles of shoes is applied to small leather goods with special processing techniques. Kagetsu is a daily use frypan created by a craftsman who carries on Shimane's renowned blacksmith culture to the present day.
We will exhibit these two projects by Kobe-based design studio, kuli-kuli.
