About the exhibitor
POLS, a modern textile brand established in 2015, blossomed from a collaboration between textile designer Kanako Kajihara and the esteemed yarn-dyeing and textile manufacturer Maruman, founded in 1901.
Maruman specialises in the ‘Sakizome’ dyeing technique, in which yarn is dyed before, rather than after, it is woven. Drawing from their parent company’s wealth of expertise and knowledge accumulated over a century-long involvement in the textile industry, POLS embarks on a new adventure to create new works of art while showcasing the beauty of accessible, modern textiles.
About the products
POLS seeks to capture the essence of historic 'Banshu-ori' weaving in intricate three-dimensional textiles. Employing jacquard weaves crafted from pre-dyed yarn, they create vibrant, intricately woven fabrics that are delicate yet durable, traditional yet modern. This unique jacquard weaving epitomises POLS's craftmanship, unveiling a world of textiles that brings sheer delight to those who wear them.
