Cultural Programme
Immerse yourself in the world of Japanese crafts
Our cultural programme is curated by Stichting MONO JAPAN in collaboration with the Nieuwe Instituut and will include a series of lectures and workshops.
To attend the cultural programme, please buy an entrance ticket online. If you are attending workshops, you need to purchase a ticket for each workshop additionally.

Collaboration with Nieuwe Instituut
Nieuwe Instituut is the national museum for architecture, design and digital culture, situated in Rotterdam. As a collaborator, the Nieuwe Instituut serves as the main venue for MONO JAPAN. The institute is facilitating the opening event alongside lectures and workshops scheduled throughout the MONO JAPAN Fair weekend.
13 September 16:00-18:00: Preview of the Cultural Programme for the Netherlands' participation at Expo 2025 Osaka
Nieuwe Instituut will present their involvement in Expo 2025 Osaka, offering insights into the upcoming cultural programme curated by the Nieuwe Instituut for the Expo. Francien van Westrenen (Head of Agency, Nieuwe Instituut) will explore the theme of the Netherlands pavilion, 'Common Ground,' and how it will be animated through the cultural programme. The presentation will be followed by discussions with cultural actors and creators.
Expo 2025 Osaka will be held from April 13th (Sun) to October 13th (Mon), 2025, in Kansai, Japan. More information on the Expo, its theme, and the Netherlands' participation will follow shortly.
