About the exhibitor

Kyoto Karasuma Rokuhichido is a new Japanese stationery brand that focuses on the four seasons and customs of Japan using a special pasting technique. Paper that connects people and conveys thoughts in an effor to shape the future of washi paper.

The main items are stationery made from Japan's unique paper: washi. Their washi has been used and cultivated in Kyoto since 1912 through experience and tradition. They’ve added a modern sensibility to this washi tradition to create a new type of Japanese stationery with richness woven into the texture, color, and shape of the paper — and of daily life.

About the products

Each product is handmade using the technique of pasting washi over washi. Applying silk printing and pasting pictures to the base Japanese paper brings out the texture and color difference adding depth to the design.

Kyoto Karasuma Rokuhichido is characterized by a design that skillfully combines the flat texture of silk printing, the clear colors and the fluffy texture peculiar to Japanese paper, and the slightly soft colors.
