MUJUN is a team of young designers who are passionate about introducing unique Japanese craftsmanship to a worldwide audience. They believe that traditional handcrafts are still relevant, as they can provide inspiration for modern lifestyles today.
They work with skilled craftspeople in Kyoto, first by understanding the core values and key elements of their work. Then they design products for the craftspeople to make, with an international audience in mind. They hope that, by creating something new with old techniques, they can keep traditional methods alive.
MUJUN will exhibit their stunning Banshu knives and scissors once again this year, as well as Japanese pestle and mortars, and woven bamboo objects. Taking beautiful handicrafts as their starting point, MUJUN work with modern craftsmen trained in traditional arts to make tools. Don’t miss their fantastically popular knife-sharpening workshop, back for the third year running!
