About the exhibitor

Embracing the theme ‘familiar but new’, knot makes lifestyle goods that push the boundaries of high-quality craft. Knot makes use of Japanese craftsmen’s diverse skills while prioritising the feel of their products next to one’s skin, resulting in products that set a new modern standard.

 

About the products

The products of knot reflect the region’s topography and resources, as well as skills and techniques cultivated there, leading to a comfortably familiar and yet fresh aesthetic.

NEW PATTERN (shirts)
This shirt is cut in such a way that it produces no waste fabric. The design is therefore partly inspired and partly determined by the form that this cutting pattern creates. Having developed a production process that can only be achieved with small scale production, knot has created this shirt in two sizes, cutting both from the same sheet of fabric with no waste left over. Revised and drafted many times over, the ingenious design of this shirt is in itself its charm, but it also feels luxuriously comfortable on.
