Tsunagu Sonogi Tea Farmers is a group of 6 tea farmers between the ages of 20 and 40 who are either of the third or fourth generation of tea farmers within their families. They independently cultivate and process Japanese tea, and are active in preserving and handing down the Sonogi Tea producing methods to the next generations.
The tea farmers, Yoshitaka Ohyama and Kazuhiko Onoue won several awards at the National Tea Competition 2017 in Japan, and so did their agricultural area Higashi Sonogi town. Sonogi Tea is thereby now officially recognised as the finest tea in Japan.
6 tea farmers from Nagasaki used their five senses to cultivate 6 different varieties of a tea called Tamaryokucha, a type of Japanese green tea with curly leaves commonly produced in southern Japan. Each tea has their own distinctive characteristics as it is grown, made and processed at a different plantation, in a different factory and by different tea farmers. Enjoy the pure taste of a single variety of these teas or combine them to make your own original blend.
You can now also savor different types of tea produced in Higashi Sonogi town in tea bags. Whether you are on the road or at your work, this selection makes your tea break enjoyable wherever you are.
